Ads of the previous millenium
Inspired by Ferrari's post on old ads, here are the things that I remembered from my days in Madras:

Saravana Stores...Eversilver, pithalai, nagai...T.Nagar Usman Road (Kilaigal illai).

Cutticura talc...sloosy loosy or something like that.

All those ads are familiar, but the Solidaire one - it's so annoyingly catchy, I still remember it. Especially as one of the dancers in the ad was a friend of mine! :)

I remember it distinctly because I overwrote my dad's audio tape with something else and that particular place had this Cutticura Talc ad, so I had to recreate this Cutticura talc ad with my own voice :-)

There was this annoying ad for a washing machine..it ended with a Japanese guy mouthing the words "I am taking it with me to Japan".
Plus an Asian Paints ad based around the Pongal festival, with no words, just music (I think AR Rahman's score) and also another ad for Leo Coffee (featured Arvind Swamy I think) again set to music by AR Rahman. Couple of ads in those days that got the meaning across without words.
Then there was this Palmolive ka jawaab nahin (which also inspired a few amateurish jokes), Pan Paraag Pan Masala Pan Paraag..

How about the cinthol soap??..i still remember the smell and the red colored wrapper.
