Tiger Direct sues Apple

Lawsuits keep getting crazier everytime you hear about a new one. If you watch for deals regularly on electronic items, then you would know about the store Tiger Direct, located in Illinois. I have been to this place a couple of times - the place is a simple warehouse filled with electronic items (these guys charge a notoriously high shipping fees of over $10 for anything you buy from them). Now they have filed a lawsuit against Apple over their Tiger OS, citing that their search results are getting affected! ... <Read More>.

What better way to get publicity than threaten or actually file a lawsuit. The cost of the attorneys plus all the fees associated with the filing crap would probably be far less than the money they would've had to spend on an ad campaign.

Maybe they do have a legitimate point in filing their lawsuit, but with all the random lawsuits all over the place, its tough not to be cynical.

Yeah, you are right. It could either be a simple way to get publicity or maybe they do have a say in their online search presence.

The stupid thing about all this is that Apple has been talking about the name Tiger for a really really long time now and Tiger Direct decides to start the law suit days before. This looks more like a cheap shot to get money out of Apple by trying to scare a delay.

Huhhh.... why do I sense Mr. Gates around :)

Tiger Direct is a direct online retailer of computers and electronics. It is not that that the company offers low quality products. The complaints I found on are more about the customer service, including the delivery services. Either you can not get your electronic appliance fixed if it is on a warranty or you do not get the product at all. None of these is cool.
