Back from Seattle

Just got back from the Port City of Seattle. Was there for 3 days with a couple of friends. It's a very nice place, situated between mountains and the Sea with a decent climate. Decent, I say, because I have heard that it rains a lot over there, but I was happy that it didnt when I was there. Saw Microsoft's buildings from outside, went to their Company Store to buy Halo2 T-shirts, Xbox lanyards and other Microsoft things. Their museum was really good. Had some cool techy stuff there. Will post some of the pictures online soon.

Oscars is on right now...Chris Rock made a funny comment during the presentation...next year we will have drive-through Oscar - You will get an Oscar with a McFlurry (McDonald's MilkShake).

In another unrelated news...Microsoft Antispyware (Beta 1) complains about Firefox! I am right now running it on my laptop to check that :-)

Me--to-->Me: See, I was blogging while watching the oscars...you too shouldve done that :-)

Me--to-->Prabz: Actually, no. It seems it snows maybe a day or two in the year. The only discouraging part is the rain - which makes it a popular and famous suicide city :-( It's got a lot of places to check out. A must-visit place in the US.

Me--to-->Krish: Yeah, I also didnt get that error. Maybe they rectified that error?! :-)
Thanks buddy. So how was your weekend?

Me--to-->Praveen: Hi! Thanks for coming over. Quite true. You cant expect anything less from them!

Me--to-->Saranyan: Will post it within a day or two.
Went to Pike's place - it's a market.
Went to Starbucks' first coffee shop.
Ate Crepes for breakfast - excellent (similar to our dosa).
Some piers next to the docks.
Microsoft campus - bought a lot of microsoft stuff - Halo 2 T-shirts, Xbox lanyards, and several MS Sirts. Also went to the Microsoft Museum, prety nice place.
Vasa Park.
Snowqualmie Falls.
Leavenworth - A Bavarian Village. And saw some waterfalls on the way which had a nice kayaking spot.
Kirkland's waterfront.
Seattle waterfront at night.
Wanted to go to St.Helens, Mt. Rainier and San Juan Islands and also to Vancouver, but didnt have the time at all. It's a must-see place.

Me--to-->Jaganlee: Yeah I think going there at the right time matters a lot.

Me--to-->Satosphere: Actually no. This place is notorious for the rain, it just gets a bit chilly at night because of the harbour, otherwise it's got a decent climate - atleast much better than Chicago :-)

Seems you had quite a good trip to Seattle. I have been there once and liked the place a lot. I am not too much of an MS fan and hence I cant comment on the MS related places. The weather was nice, since I was there in Jan and it was quite a pleasant change from Philly from where I left.

I intend staying away from MS AntiSpyware until I read all known issues, bugs and security flaws that it can potentially cause and they are atleast partly fixed :)

Me--to-->The Last Blogger: Yeah, really enjoyed it a lot.

This software is not theirs entirely. They just bought it from Giant Software and re-branded it. Going forward we will find out how they manage it :-)

Nupur,
So you work for the software giant? Cool!

I like it at times, dont like it too much because of its over-sweetness.

Nutella Crepe. It has chocolate sauce with roasted and sliced banana inside it. The restaurants (or Kai-yendi-bhavans) that I tried it were of the French kind (vancouver's influence is pretty pronounced in Seattle). But the other day I saw an ad for IHOP and they advertised for Crepes, so you could go there and try it too.

Me--to-->Lucky Dog: You the same lucky dog that I know of? And, Did he find the phone yet? :-)

Me--to-->Saranyan: Most of the Crepes have powdered sugar in them, which certainly adds to the taste. Should try out a IHOP Crepe soon.
